Membrane Associated Guanylate Kinase With Inverted Structure 2 (MAGI2)
MAGI2 interacts with atrophin-1. Atrophin-1 contains a polyglutamine repeat, expansion of which is responsible for dentatorubral and pallidoluysian atrophy. This encoded protein is characterized by two WW domains, a guanylate kinase-like domain, and multiple PDZ domains. It has structural similarity to the membrane-associated guanylate kinase homologue (MAGUK) family.
AIP1 encodes a deduced 1,455-amino acid protein containing a guanylate kinase-like (GuK) domain, 2 WW domains, and 5 PDZ domains. AIP1 shares homology with murine MAGI1, C. elegans K01A6.1, and human AIP3/WWP3 (BAIAP1).
