Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 15 (CHST15)

BRAG; GALNAC4S-6ST; B Cell RAG Associated Protein; N-Acetylgalactosamine 4-Sulfate 6-O-Sulfotransferase

Carbohydrate Sulfotransferase 15 (CHST15)
CHST15 contains 503 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 55 kD. In vitro translation resulted in a doublet that migrated between 69 and 49 kD by SDS-PAGE. BRAG is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein with an 81-amino acid cytoplasmic N terminus, followed by a transmembrane domain, and a 405-amino acid extracellular C terminus. The N terminus contains a putative palmitoylation site and several phosphorylation sites, and the C terminus contains 4 putative N-glycosylation sites.
BRAG transcript expressed in all B-cell lines that also expressed RAG1. Little or no expression was detected in several nonlymphoid cell lines, and no expression was detected in T-cell lines, irrespective of RAG1 expression.
