1-Acylglycerol-3-Phosphate-O-Acyltransferase 9 (AGPAT9)

MAG1; GPAT3; LPAAT-theta; Glycerol-3-Phosphate Acyltransferase 3; Lysophosphatidic Acid Acyltransferase Theta; Lung Cancer Metastasis-Associated Protein 1

1-Acylglycerol-3-Phosphate-O-Acyltransferase 9 (AGPAT9)
has a calculated molecular mass of 48.7 kD. It has 4 putative transmembrane domains and 2 conserved motifs in a phosphate acyltransferase domain, which shares 86% identity with that of LPAAT-zeta. RT-PCR detected variable expression of LPAAT-theta in all human tissues examined. Fluorescence-tagged LPAAT-theta was expressed in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) of transfected COS-7 cells. Orthologs of LPAAT-theta were detected in mouse, rat, dog, chicken, frog, and zebrafish databases.
The deduced 434-amino acid human protein shares 95% identity with the deduced 438-amino acid mouse protein. Both proteins have 4 acyltransferase motifs within the 133-amino acid domain.
