A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase With Thrombospondin 15 (ADAMTS15)

A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase With Thrombospondin 15 (ADAMTS15)
ADAMTS15 encodes a member of the ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs) protein family. Individual members of this family differ in the number of C-terminal TS motifs, and some have unique C-terminal domains. The protein encoded by this gene has a high sequence similarity to the proteins encoded by ADAMTS1 and ADAMTS8.The deduced protein contains an N-terminal signal peptide, followed by a propeptide; a metalloprotease catalytic domain that includes the Zn-binding motif; a disintegrin-like domain; a central thrombospondin I (THBS1)-like motif; a cysteine-rich domain; a spacer region; and 2 C-terminal THBS1 repeats. It also has 4 N-glycosylation sites. ADAMTS15 shares 46% sequence identity with ADAMTS1 and ADAMTS5 and 44% identity with ADAMTS8.
