ADP Ribosylation Factor Like Protein 4D (ARL4D)

ARF4L; ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 4L

ADP Ribosylation Factor Like Protein 4D (ARL4D)
Three domains (M1-3) are required for phosphate/magnesium binding, while the other 3 domains (G1-3) are required for guanine nucleotide binding. Comparison of the deduced amino acid sequences of 6 human ARF isoforms for which the genes have been identified indicates a high degree of sequence conservation. Smith et al. (1995) cloned a novel human ARF cDNA from a retinal cDNA library and found that the deduced protein was most homologous to rat ARF-like protein ARL4.Smith et al. (1995) mapped the ARF4L gene to chromosome 17q12-q21 by hybridization of a cDNA probe to YACs that form part of the physical contig on 17q12-q21. The localization was confirmed by PCR, which demonstrated that the gene was specifically amplified from genomic clones located in that segment.
