ADP Ribosylation Like Factor 6 Interacting Protein 4 (ARL6IP4)
Sasahara et al. (2000) cloned novel mouse and human cDNAs, which they designated SR-25, from insulinoma cDNA libraries. The deduced human 218-amino acid protein shares 77.7% sequence identity with the mouse homolog and contains a serine-arginine (SR) repeat and 2 types of amino acid clusters: a serine cluster and a highly basic cluster. Northern blot analysis detected expression in all mouse tissues tested, with abundant expression in testis and thymus. Based on the structure and expression pattern of SR-25, Sasahara et al. (2000) suggested that the protein is localized in the nucleus and may contribute to RNA splicing. The International Radiation Hybrid Mapping Consortium mapped the ARL6IP4 gene to chromosome 12.
