AT-Rich Interactive Domain Containing Protein 3B (ARID3B)
ARID3B is homologous with two proteins that bind to the retinoblastoma gene product, and also with the mouse Bright and Drosophila dead ringer proteins. A pseudogene on chromosome 1p31 exists for this gene. Members of the ARID family have roles in embryonic patterning, cell lineage gene regulation, cell cycle control, transcriptional regulation and possibly in chromatin structure modification. The deduced 560-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of 61 kD. ARID3B shares 89% and 83% identity with ARID3A, and Drosophila dead ringer respectively. ARID3B amino acid residues 217 to 301 define a conserved region that shares similarity with several other proteins including RB1, RB2 (RBL2), JARID1C, ARID5A, and ARID5B.
