Abhydrolase Domain Containing Protein 3 (ABHD3)

LABH3; Phospholipase ABHD3

Abhydrolase Domain Containing Protein 3 (ABHD3)
Edgar and Polak (2002) cloned mouse Abhd3, which they called Labh3. The deduced 411-amino acid protein has a central core predicted to form alpha/beta hydrolase folds and has a ser-ala-his catalytic triad characteristic of peroxidases. By database analysis, the authors identified human ABHD3, which encodes a deduced 409-amino acid protein that shares 93% amino acid identity with mouse Abhd3. Real-time PCR detected Abhd3 in most adult mouse tissues examined, with highest expression in liver. Abhd3 was also expressed at all embryonic stages examined.
The International Radiation Hybrid Mapping Consortium mapped the ABHD3 gene to chromosome 18 .Edgar (2003) stated that the ABHD3 gene mapped to chromosome 18q11.1.
