Adaptor Related Protein Complex 1 Mu 1 (AP1m1)
AP1m1 is the medium chain of the trans-Golgi network clathrin-associated protein complex AP-1. The other components of this complex are beta-prime-adaptin, gamma-adaptin, and the small chain AP1S1. This complex is located at the Golgi vesicle and links clathrin to receptors in coated vesicles. These vesicles are involved in endocytosis and Golgi processing.the Golgi-localized, gamma-ear-containing adenosine diphosphate ribosylation factor-binding proteins (GGA1 and GGA3) and the AP-1 complex colocalize in clathrin-coated buds of the trans-Golgi networks of mouse L cells and human HeLa cells. Binding studies revealed a direct interaction between the hinge domains of the GGAs and the gamma-ear domain of AP-1.
