Amyloid Beta Precursor Protein Binding Protein B2 (APBB2)

APB-B2; FE65L; FE65L1; Fe65-like; Amyloid beta A4 precursor protein-binding family B member 2

Amyloid Beta Precursor Protein Binding Protein B2 (APBB2)
Amyloid beta A4 precursor protein-binding family B member 2 is a protein interacts with the cytoplasmic domains of amyloid beta (A4) precursor protein and amyloid beta (A4) precursor-like protein 2. This protein contains two phosphotyrosine binding (PTB) domains, which are thought to function in signal transduction.
APBB2 protein interacts with another amyloid protein precursor, APLP2, but not with APLP1. The APBB2 gene encodes a 730-amino acid polypeptide that is 51% identical to rat Fe65. Northern blot analysis revealed that APBB2 has widespread expression in human tissues.APBB2 gene encodes a protein that is capable of binding to amyloid beta precursor protein (APP), which is central to the pathogenesis of Alzheimer disease.
