Angiotensin 1-9 (Ang1-9)

Angiotensin 1-9 (Ang1-9)

Angiotensin 1-9 (Ang1-9) is the renin-angiotensin-system peptide found in the plasma of healthy volunteers and after angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitors therapy. Ang1-9 is a peptide (ASP-ARG-VAL-TYR-ILE-HIS-PRO-PHE-HIS) containing the amino acids 1-9 that are converted from Angiotensin I/II peptide. ACE2 (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 2) alternatively converts Angiotensin II into Ang1-7 and Angiotensin I into Ang1-9. The peptide of Ang1-9 increased plasma level of fibrinogen, augments fibrin generation, and similarly to Ang II, potentiated collagen induced platelet aggregation.
