Beta Catenin Like Protein 1 (CTNNbL1)

NAP; NYD-SP19; P14L; C20orf33; Nuclear Associated Protein; Testis development protein NYD-SP19

Beta Catenin Like Protein 1 (CTNNbL1)
CTNNBL1 contains an acidic domain, a putative bipartite nuclear localization signal, a nuclear export signal, a leucine-isoleucine zipper, and phosphorylation motifs. In addition, the encoded protein contains Armadillo/beta-catenin-like repeats, which have been implicated in protein-protein interactions. Although the function of this protein has not been determined, the C-terminal portion of the protein has been shown to possess apoptosis-inducing activity. The deduced 563-amino acid protein has a calculated molecular mass of 65.2 kb and shares 96% amino acid identity with its mouse ortholog. CTNNBL1 contains a bipartite nuclear localization signal (BNLS), a highly acidic N-terminal glu/asp-rich region, a nuclear export signal (NES), and a potential leucine-isoleucine zipper motif.
