Chemokine C-C-Motif Receptor Like Protein 1 (CCRL1)
CCRL1 is 86% identical to the bovine gustatory receptor PPR1, has numerous intracellular serine and threonine residues, a single cysteine residue in each of the first and second extracellular loops, and 3 potential N-glycosylation sites. Northern blot analysis revealed abundant expression of 5.0-, 2.0- and 1.3-kb CCRL1 transcripts in heart, with lower levels of the 2.0- and 1.3-kb transcripts in adult lung, pancreas, spleen, ovary, and small intestine, and in fetal lung, liver, and kidney. In situ hybridization analysis demonstrated expression of CCRL1 in heart muscle tissue. Genomic sequence analysis suggested that the multiple transcripts seen in Northern blot analysis are due to polyadenylation at multiple sites and alternative splicing. Flow cytometric analysis showed cell-surface expression of CCRL1.
