Odorant Response Abnormal 4 (ODR4)

C1orf27; TTG1; TTG1A; LAG1-interacting protein; Transactivated by transforming growth factor beta protein 1

Odorant Response Abnormal 4 (ODR4)
The deduced protein contains 335 amino acids. Northern blot analysis detected transcripts of 4.2, 1.9, and 1.7 kb in all tissues examined except peripheral blood leukocytes. The 4.2-kb transcript was dominant, with highest expression in prostate.
By searching databases for sequences similar to C. elegans Odr4, followed by DNA enrichment of a complex human cDNA library, Lehman et al. (2005) cloned full-length ODR4. The deduced 454-amino acid protein contains a C-terminal transmembrane domain. RT-PCR detected ODR4 expression in nearly all human tissues examined. Orthologs of ODR4 were found in all plant and animal species examined.
