Chromosome 2 Open Reading Frame 43 (C2orf43)

Chromosome 2 Open Reading Frame 43 (C2orf43)
Chromosome 2 is one of the 23 pairs of chromosomes in humans. People normally have two copies of this chromosome. Chromosome 2 is the second largest human chromosome, spanning more than 237 million base pairs and representing almost 8% of the total DNA in cells. Identifying genes on each chromosome is an active area of genetic research.
From human cDNA libraries derived from multiple tissues, Strausberg et al. (2002) obtained a full-length cDNA sequence corresponding to C2ORF43.Hartz (2010) mapped the C2ORF43 gene to chromosome 2p24.1 based on an alignment of the C2ORF43 sequence with the genomic sequence (GRCh37).
