Cordon Bleu Protein Like Protein 1 (COBLL1)

Cordon Bleu Protein Like Protein 1 (COBLL1)
Cordon-bleu protein-like 1 is a protein encoded by the COBLL1 gene. The deduced protein contains 1,166 amino acids. RT-PCR ELISA detected high COBLL1 expression in lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, ovary, spinal cord, brain, fetal liver, and all specific adult brain regions examined. Intermediate expression was detected in skeletal muscle, spleen, testis, and fetal brain.
The deduced mouse and human proteins are 63% identical. In situ hybridization of mouse embryos during gastrulation detected Coblr1 in extraembryonic tissues only. At embryonic days 8.5 and 9.0, it was also detected in developing branchial arch 1, and by day 10.5 it was expressed in branchial clefts, nasal placodes, and the forelimb bud.
