RT-PCR detected highest expression in testis and lower expression in all other tissues examined except brain and kidney. Fluorescence-tagged CCNX was expressed predominantly in the nucleus in a human nonsmall lung cancer cell line.Using mass spectrometry to identify proteins upregulated in metastatic versus nonmetastatic human colorectal adenocarcinoma cell lines, followed by database analysis, Zhang et al. (2005) identified an isoform of CCNY that they called CFP1 variant A. The deduced protein has a calculated molecular mass of 36.9 kD.
