Disco Interacting Protein 2 Homolog C (DIP2C)

Disco Interacting Protein 2 Homolog C (DIP2C)
By sequencing clones obtained from a size-fractionated brain cDNA library, Nagase et al. (1999) cloned DIP2C, which they designated KIAA0934. The deduced protein contains 1,352 amino acids. RT-PCR detected moderate expression in all adult and fetal tissues and specific adult brain regions examined except lung and pancreas, where expression was low.
By radiation hybrid analysis, Nagase et al. (1999) mapped the DIP2C gene to chromosome 10. Winnepenninckx et al. (2007) stated that the DIP2C gene maps to chromosome 10p15.3.The Drosophila sequence shares 61% overall identity with the human protein, and the human and mouse proteins share 100% identity along 2 amino acid stretches in the C terminus.
