DnaJ/HSP40 Homolog Subfamily C, Member 27 (DNAJC27)
By searching databases for sequences similar to Trypanosoma cruzi Rbj, Nepomuceno-Silva et al. (2004) identified human DNAJC27, which they called RBJ. The deduced 273-amino acid protein has a RAB-like GTPase domain followed by a DNAJ domain. Database analysis revealed a splice variant encoding a protein with only the GTPase domain. EST database analysis suggested that DNAJC27 is highly expressed in nervous system and reproductive organs.
Hartz (2010) mapped the DNAJC27 gene to chromosome 2p23.3 based on an alignment of the DNAJC27 sequence with the genomic sequence (GRCh37).
