Ectonucleotide Pyrophosphatase/Phosphodiesterase 5 (ENPP5)

NPP-5

Ectonucleotide Pyrophosphatase/Phosphodiesterase 5 (ENPP5)
ENPP5 is expressed at high level, 1.9 times the average gene in this release. The sequence of this gene is defined by 209 GenBank accessions from 203 cDNA clones, some from testis, brain, hippocampus, amygdala, lung , colon, tongue, tumor tissue and 49 other tissues.
ENPP5 contains 9 different gt-ag introns. Transcription produces 8 different mRNAs, 6 alternatively spliced variants and 2 unspliced forms. There are 2 probable alternative promotors, 2 non overlapping alternative last exons and 4 validated alternative polyadenylation sites. The mRNAs appear to differ by truncation of the 5' end, truncation of the 3' end, presence or absence of 2 cassette exons, overlapping exons with different boundaries.
