F-Box And Leucine Rich Repeat Protein 18 (FBXL18)

Fbl18; F-box/LRR-repeat protein 18

F-Box And Leucine Rich Repeat Protein 18 (FBXL18)
Members of the F-box protein family, such as FBXL18, are characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif. SCF complexes, formed by SKP1, cullin, and F-box proteins, act as protein-ubiquitin ligases. F-box proteins interact with SKP1 through the F box, and they interact with ubiquitination targets through other protein interaction domains.
Jin et al. (2004) reported that the FBXL18 protein contains an F box near its N terminus, followed by 10 leucine-rich repeats and a transmembrane domain at the C terminus.Jin et al. (2004) stated that the FBXL18 gene maps to chromosome 7p22.2 and the mouse Fbxl18 gene maps to chromosome 5G2.
