F-Box And WD Repeat Domain Containing Protein 10 (FBXW10)
Members of the F-box protein family, such as FBXW10, are characterized by an approximately 40-amino acid F-box motif. SCF complexes, formed by SKP1, cullin, and F-box proteins, act as protein-ubiquitin ligases. F-box proteins interact with SKP1 through the F box, and they interact with ubiquitination targets through other protein interaction domains.
F-box proteins are the substrate recognition components of SCF ubiquitin-protein ligases. Schulman et al. (2000) described the crystal structure of the SKP1-SKP2 complex.Jin et al. (2004) reported that the FBXW10 protein contains an F box in its N-terminal half, followed by 5 central WD40 repeats.Jin et al. (2004) stated that the FBXW10 gene maps to chromosome 17p12 in human and to chromosome 11B2 in mouse.
