FCH Domain Only Protein 1 (FCHO1)

F-BAR domain only protein 1

FCH Domain Only Protein 1 (FCHO1)
FCHO1 localized to perinuclear puncta that colocalized with a trans-Golgi network marker. It also localized at the centrosome and plasma membrane, where it concentrated at sites of cell-cell adhesion. In mitotic cells, FCHO1 dispersed into the cytoplasm. The intensity of perinuclear staining fluctuated at regular intervals, similar to that shown by clathrin light chain, although the phase of accumulation differed between the 2 proteins.
Changes in FCHO1/2 expression levels correlated directly with numbers of CCV budding events, ligand endocytosis, and synaptic vesicle marker recycling. FCHO1/2 proteins bound specifically to the plasma membrane and recruited the scaffold proteins eps15 and intersectin, which in turn engaged the adaptor complex AP2.
