FYVE And Coiled Coil Domain Containing Protein 1 (FYCO1)

ZFYVE7; Zinc finger FYVE domain-containing protein 7

FYVE And Coiled Coil Domain Containing Protein 1 (FYCO1)
FYCO1 gene consists of 18 exons and has a genomic size of 77.8 kb, with a structure typical of other human genes with a large first intron (10.7 kb).
The cDNA was 8500 bp long with an open reading frame (ORF) of 4434 bp encoding a deduced 1478-amino acid protein, with a predicted molecular mass of 167 kD. Northern blot analysis revealed an 8.5-kb transcript, which is expressed mainly in heart and skeletal muscle. The FYCO1 protein was predicted to contain a FYVE zinc finger domain, a RUN domain involved in Ras-like GTPase signaling, and multiple coiled-coil domains. The STRL33 gene was localized within the fourteenth intron of the FYCO1 gene, with an antiparallel transcription orientation.
