G-protein coupled receptor GPCR33

G Protein Coupled Receptor, Family C, Group 6, Member A (GPRC6A)
Members of family C of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily, such as GPRC6A, are characterized by an evolutionarily conserved amino acid-sensing motif linked to an intramembranous 7-transmembrane loop region. Several members of GPCR family C, including GPRC6A, also have a long N-terminal domain.
The deduced 928-amino acid protein shares 80% identity with human GPRC6A. RT-PCR detected widespread but weak expression in rat tissues, with highest expression in soft palate. Rat Gprc6a was expressed on the surface of transfected human embryonic kidney cells. Deglycosylation assays revealed that Gprc6a was highly glycosylated.
