G2/M-Phase Specific E3 Ubiquitin Ligase (G2E3)

PHF7B; PHD Finger Protein 7B

G2/M-Phase Specific E3 Ubiquitin Ligase (G2E3)
G2E3 shuttled between nuclei following cell fusion, and nuclear export was controlled by a sequence motif within the HECT domain. After DNA damage, the protein rapidly disappeared from the nucleolus in HeLa cells. They cited an unpublished report that G2E3 knockout mice die in utero at embryonic day 8.5.
By sequencing clones obtained from a fetal brain cDNA library, Nagase et al. (2000) cloned KIAA1333. RT-PCR ELISA detected highest expression in testis, moderate expression in liver, kidney, ovary, and all regions of the adult brain tested except the substantia nigra which showed low expression, low expression also in heart, lung, skeletal muscle, and spleen, and little to no expression in pancreas and fetal brain.
