GLI Pathogenesis Related 1 Like Protein 1 (GLIPR1L1)

GLI Pathogenesis Related 1 Like Protein 1 (GLIPR1L1)
Ren et al. (2006) identified 4 potential p53 (TP53)-binding sites in introns 2 and 4 of GLIPR1L1, and a reporter gene assay showed that p53 strongly activated GLIPR1L1. Adenoviral vector-mediated p53 gene delivery led to upregulation of GLIPR1, GLIPR1L1, and GLIPR1L2.
The deduced proteins contain 233 and 242 amino acids. Both have an N-terminal signal sequence and 7 consensus sequences shared with other members of the GLIPR1 family, including 2 extracellular protein signature motifs. Quantitative RT-PCR showed that expression of GLIPR1L1 was high in testis, weak in bladder, and undetectable in prostate, kidney, lung, and bone marrow.
