GLI Pathogenesis Related 1 Like Protein 2 (GLIPR1L2)

GLIPR1L2 protein translation can be initiated from 3 putative start codons, and the deduced GLIPR1L2 proteins range in size from 168 to 344 amino acids.

The longest GLIPR1L2 protein has an N-terminal signal sequence, 7 consensus sequences, including 2 extracellular protein signature motifs, shared with other members of the GLIPR1 family, a transmembrane domain, and a glutamine-rich C terminus. The presence of these domains varies among the other GLIPR1L2 isoforms. Quantitative RT-PCR detected highest GLIPR1L2 expression in testis and much weaker expression in bladder, prostate, kidney, lung, and bone marrow.Adenoviral vector-mediated p53 gene delivery led to upregulation of GLIPR1, GLIPR1L1, and GLIPR1L2.
