Glycerophosphodiester Phosphodiesterase Domain Containing Protein 3 (GDPD3)

Glycerophosphodiester Phosphodiesterase Domain Containing Protein 3 (GDPD3)
GDPD3 belongs to the glycerophosphoryl diester phosphodiesterase family. Glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase (GDPD) is a glycerol metabolizing enzyme that has been previously identified in Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Bacillus subtilis and Borrelia hermsii. It has been also reported that there is putative protein containing GDPD domain in Mus musculus, but not in Homo sapiens.
GDPD3 encodes a member of the glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase family of enzymes that catalyze the hydrolysis of deacylated glycerophospholipids to glycerol phosphate and alcohol.
