Glycerophosphodiester Phosphodiesterase Domain Containing Protein 4 (GDPD4)

GDPD4, Belongs to the glycerophosphoryl diester phosphodiesterase family. Contains 1 GDPD domain. Glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase (GDPD) catalyzes the hydrolysis of deacylated glycerophospholipids to glycerol phosphate and alcohol.

In Arabidopsis, there are six GDPD domain-containing proteins that are closely related to the extracellular domain of SNC4. Western-blot analysis showed that this mutation does not affect the stability of the protein, suggesting that the GDPD domain may be important for the function of SNC4. It is unclear how the snc4-4 mutation affects the function of the protein. Additional mutagenesis analysis of the GDPD domain of SNC4 will help us better understand its function.
