Glycerophosphodiester Phosphodiesterase Domain Containing Protein 5 (GDPD5)

GDE2; Glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase 2

Glycerophosphodiester Phosphodiesterase Domain Containing Protein 5 (GDPD5)
GDPD5 suppressed expression specifically from a serum response element (SRE) reporter gene, suggesting that GDPD5 dampens signaling through the MAP kinase pathway. GDPD5-dependent suppression of the SRE reporter was dose dependent.GDPD5 is 67% and 66% identical to human and mouse GDE2, respectively. Chick Gde2 contains 6 transmembrane domains, an extracellular glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase domain (GDPD), and intracellular N and C termini. Chick Gde2 was highly expressed by somatic spinal motor neurons and by mature motor neurons, with expression initiated within cells in the intermediate zone as they differentiated into postmitotic motor neurons. Gde2 expression was detected within or directly adjacent to developing tissues that synthesize RA.
