Guanylate Cyclase 1 Alpha 3 (GUCY1a3)

GC-SA3; GUC1A3; GUCA3; GUCSA3; Guanylate cyclase soluble subunit alpha-3; Soluble guanylate cyclase large subunit

Guanylate Cyclase 1 Alpha 3 (GUCY1a3)
Soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC), a heterodimeric protein consisting of an alpha subunit, such as alpha-1 (GUCY1A3), and a beta subunit, typically beta-1 (GUCY1B3), catalyzes conversion of GTP to the second messenger cGMP and functions as the main receptor for nitric oxide and nitrovasodilator drugs.
highest expression of the alpha-2/beta-1 isoform was in brain, with significant expression in lung and lower expression in all other tissues examined. Levels of the alpha-1/beta-1 and alpha-2/beta-1 isoforms were comparable in brain, but alpha-1/beta-1 was the predominant isoform in all other tissues examined. Overall, lung had the highest amount of NOGC content.
