H2.0 Like Homeobox Protein (HLX)

HB24; Homeobox protein HLX1

H2.0 Like Homeobox Protein (HLX)
The human homeobox gene HB24 (HLX1) was isolated from a human B-lymphocyte cDNA library by hybridization to degenerate oligonucleotides derived from the Antennapedia homeobox. The homeobox of HLX1 was found to be 80% identical to that of the Drosophila H2.0 homeobox gene. In situ hybridization studies demonstrated expression in thymus, tonsil, bone marrow, developing vessels, and fetal brain.
Kennedy et al. (1994) isolated genomic clones for HLX1. The predicted protein based on the determined sequence showed 86.5% homology to the product of the murine Hlx gene.Kennedy et al. (1994) isolated genomic clones for HLX1 and determined its intron-exon organization. The transcription initiation sites were identified.
