Heat Shock Transcription Factor 2 Binding Protein (HSF2BP)

Heat Shock Transcription Factor 2 Binding Protein (HSF2BP)
HSF2 binding protein (HSF2BP) associates with HSF2. The interaction occurs between the trimerization domain of HSF2 and the amino terminal hydrophilic region of HSF2BP that comprises two leucine zipper motifs. HSF2BP may therefore be involved in modulating HSF2 activation. HSF2, as well as the related gene HSF1, encodes a protein that binds specifically to the heat-shock element and has homology to HSFs of other species. Heat shock transcription factors activate heat-shock response genes under conditions of heat or other stresses. HSF2BP, a testis-specific binding protein of HSF2, as a binding partner of BNC1 by using yeast two-hybrid screening. HSF2BP could interact with and inhibit BNC1 transcriptional activity without affecting its expression level.
