Immunoglobulin Superfamily, Member 6 (IGSF6)

Northern blot analysis revealed highest expression of 1.0- and 2.5-kb IGSF6 transcripts in peripheral blood leukocytes, followed by spleen and lymph node. Low expression was detected in thymus, appendix, bone marrow, and fetal liver, and no expression was detected in nonimmune system tissues.

Expression of IGSF6 was not present in CD34-positive precursor cells, but was present in DCs derived from those cells after cytokine treatment. IGSF6 expression was present in CD11C-positive DCs and other cells of the myeloid lineage. CD40 ligation of DCs results in a downregulation of DORA. In situ hybridization analysis showed expression of IGSF6 in cells of the germinal center.
