Integrin Beta 1 Binding Protein 3 (ITGb1BP3)

ITGB1BP3 contains 186 amino acids. Northern blot analysis detected high MIBP expression in heart and lower expression in skeletal muscle. Western blot analysis detected high MIBP protein expression in skeletal muscle and lower expression in heart, suggesting that MIBP expression is controlled at both the transcriptional and translational levels. No MIBP mRNA or protein was detected in any other tissues examined. Western blot analysis of a mouse myoblast cell line detected endogenous Mibp at an apparent molecular mass of about 19 kD.MIBP binds to the membrane-proximal cytoplasmic region shared by the integrin beta-1A and beta-1D isoforms in vitro and in vivo. Mibp was abundantly expressed in a mouse myogenic cell line before fusion, and Mibp expression was dramatically downregulated during subsequent differentiation.
