Kruppel Like Factor 7, Ubiquitous (KLF7)

UKLF; Ubiquitous krueppel-like factor

Kruppel Like Factor 7, Ubiquitous (KLF7)
The zinc finger domain of KLF7 shares highest sequence similarity with that of CPBP, followed by those of BTEB2, EKLF, and GKLF, among the zinc finger domains of known members of the EKLF group. Recombinant KLF7 protein expressed in mammalian cells localized to the nucleus. Northern blot analysis of adult and embryonic human tissues, as well as a representative group of human cell lines, detected major KLF7 transcripts of 8.3, 4.6, and 2.6 kb in virtually all tissues and cell lines tested. In the embryo, KLF7 was expressed at highest levels in kidney and brain. In the adult, it was expressed at highest levels in brain and spinal cord, and among the cell lines, it was expressed at highest levels in those lines derived from keratinocytes and lung fibroblasts.
