Human sequences homologous to both Clim1 and Clim2 proteins were found. To obtain full-length cDNA clones for both genes, they screened a human craniofacial cDNA library with the corresponding human clones. The CLIM1 composite cDNA was found to be 2,351 bp long; the CLIM2 composite cDNA was found to be 1,953 bp long. The genes encode proteins of similar size, 373 and 375 amino acids, respectively.
