Leprecan Like Protein 2 (LEPREL2)

GRCB; P3H3; Prolyl 3-Hydroxylase 3; Protein B

Leprecan Like Protein 2 (LEPREL2)
LEPREL2 belongs to a family of collagen prolyl hydroxylases required for proper collagen biosynthesis, folding, and assembly.Northern blot analysis detected tissue-specific expression of 2.1- and 3.4-kb transcripts.
The deduced protein contains 736 amino acids. All P3H proteins have a highly conserved C-terminal domain that contains critical catalytic residues found in lysyl and prolyl 4-hydroxylases, including 2 iron-binding histidines and an aspartic acid, as well as a C-terminal rough endoplasmic reticulum retention motif (KDEL). In their more divergent N-terminal halves, all P3H proteins contain 4 CxxxC repeats.LEPREL2 gene contains 14 exons. Intron 5 contains 2 Alu repeats and intron 8 contains 3.
