Leucine Rich Repeat Containing Protein 4C (LRRC4C)

NGL-1; Netrin-G1 ligand

Leucine Rich Repeat Containing Protein 4C (LRRC4C)
NGL1 is a specific binding partner for netrin G1 (NTNG1), which is a member of the netrin family of axon guidance molecules. The deduced 640-amino acid protein contains several leucine-rich repeats (LRRs), including LRR N- and C-terminal domains, and an immunoglobulin (Ig) domain. NGL1 expression in adult and fetal brain and in all individual brain regions examined. Little to no expression was detected in the peripheral tissues examined.NGL1 shares 99.9% sequence identity with mouse Ngl1. Northern blot analysis detected 3.5- and 4.8-kb transcripts in fetal and adult brain, with highest expression in cerebral cortex and in individual neocortical areas such as the frontal, parietal, and occipital lobes. In embryonic mouse, Ngl1 was highly expressed in the developing cerebral cortex and the striatum of day 14 embryos.
