Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor Related Protein 10 (LRP10)

cloned mouse Lrp10, which they called Lrp9. Following cleavage of a 17-amino acid signal sequence, the mature type I membrane protein contains 696 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 74.8 kD. It contains 2 N-terminal CUB domains separated by a single ligand-binding repeat, followed by a cluster of 3 additional ligand-binding repeats, a central transmembrane domain, and a proline-rich C-terminal intracellular region. Northern blot analysis detected abundant Lrp10 expression in mouse liver, kidney, lung, and heart, with weaker expression in spleen and brain. Northern blot analysis of human tissues revealed a slightly different expression pattern, with a 3-kb transcript present in blood leukocytes, lung, placenta, small intestine, liver, kidney, spleen, thymus, colon, skeletal muscle, and heart, but not in brain.
