Lysine Specific Demethylase 4D Like Protein (KDM4DL)

KDM4E; Lysine-specific demethylase 4E; KDM4D-like protein

Lysine Specific Demethylase 4D Like Protein (KDM4DL)
KDM4DL, Belongs to the JHDM3 histone demethylase family. Contains 1 JmjC domain. Contains 1 JmjN domain. Probable histone demethylase. Demethylation of Lys residue generates formaldehyde and succinate.
JMJD2A encodes a deduced 523-amino acid protein that has a C-terminal truncation compared with JMJD2A, JMJD2B , and JMJD2C. Like those JMJD2 family members, JMJD2D has JmjN and JmjC domains, but it lacks the JDH2 and TUDOR domains. JmjN is a small domain found in the Jumonji family of transcription factors. JmjC is a putative enzymatic domain. By genomic sequence analysis, Katoh and Katoh (2004) mapped the JMJD2D gene to chromosome 11q21, where it lies in tandem with 2 other single-exon JMJD2 family genes, JMJD2E and JMJD2F.
