MAP7 Domain Containing Protein 3 (MAP7D3)

MDP3

MAP7 Domain Containing Protein 3 (MAP7D3)
MAP7D3 belongs to the MAP7 (microtubule-associated protein 7) family. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found.
MAP7 Microtubule-stabilizing protein that may play an important role during reorganization of microtubules during polarization and differentiation of epithelial cells. Associates with microtubules in a dynamic manner. May play a role in the formation of intercellular contacts. Colocalization with TRPV4 results in the redistribution of TRPV4 toward the membrane and may link cytoskeletal microfilaments. Belongs to the MAP7 family. Up-regulated upon terminal differentiation of primary keratinocytes. Interacts with TRPV4. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. Expressed in the skin and cells of epithelial origin.
