Meningioma Expressed Antigen 6 (MGEA6)

Out of 20 positive cDNA clones, 8 shared high sequence homologies. The 8 clones could be grouped into 3 classes (MEA6, MEA11, and MEA14) that differed in length and were characterized by specific sequence variations. The longest open reading frame (MEA6) encoded an immunoreactive antigen. RT-PCR showed consistent expression of all sequence classes in several meningiomas and additional tissues. The expression data were confirmed by Northern blot analysis. The CTAGE5 transcripts range in size from 2.8 to 4.1 kb. RT-PCR detected the CTAG5A variant only in testis, but the other variants were expressed in several other normal tissues. One or more of the variants were expressed in mycosis fungoides tumors, a T-zone lymphoma, and in 4 cutaneous T-cell lymphoma cell lines.
