Myb Like, SWIRM And MPN Domains Protein 1 (MYSM1)

MYSM1 protein contains an N-terminal SANT domain, a central SWIRM domain, and a C-terminal JAMM domain. SANT and SWIRM domains are found in chromatin-associated proteins. JAMM domains are found in proteasome regulatory subunits and transcriptional regulators, and they function as catalytic domains of metalloproteases for ubiquitin (UBB).The deduced 726-amino acid protein has characteristics of a nucleic acid management protein. MYSM1 highest levels in adult spleen and kidney, followed by fetal liver and adult ovary, heart, and spinal cord. More moderate expression was detected in liver, pancreas, testis, and skeletal muscle, with lowest levels in fetal brain and adult brain and lung. MYSM1 was expressed in all specific adult brain regions examined, with highest levels in hippocampus and cerebellum.
