Neuropilin And Tolloid Like Protein 1 (NETO1)
NETO1 encodes a predicted transmembrane protein containing two extracellular CUB domains followed by a low-density lipoprotein class A (LDLa) domain. It also has an intracellular FXNPXY-like motif, which has been shown in other proteins to be essential for the internalization of clathrin coated pits during endocytosis. The protein contains an N-terminal signal sequence and 2 conserved extracellular CUB domains followed by a single copy of the low density lipoprotein class A (LDLa) module. Its cytoplasmic domain contains an FXNPXY-like motif. NETO1 generates 3 isoforms. Isoform 1, produced by alternative usage of exon 5, encodes a 135-amino acid sequence with a classic signal peptide of 21 amino acids giving rise to a mature 114-amino acid protein with a calculated molecular mass of 15.4 kD.
