Nucleoside Diphosphate Linked Moiety X-Type Motif 10 (NUDT10)

DIPP3a; APS2; Nudix Type Motif 10; Diphosphoinositol polyphosphate phosphohydrolase 3-alpha; Diadenosine 5',5'''-P1,P6-hexaphosphate hydrolase 3-alpha

Nucleoside Diphosphate Linked Moiety X-Type Motif 10 (NUDT10)
NUDT10 belongs to a subgroup of phosphohydrolases that preferentially attack diphosphoinositol polyphosphates. The ORFs of NUDT10 and NUDT11 have 6 nucleotide differences, leading to 5 silent changes and a single amino acid change (pro89 in NUDT10 and arg89 in NUDT11). Both proteins contain 164 amino acids. PCR analysis detected strong NUDT10 expression in brain and liver. Expression was also detected in heart, placenta, lung, kidney, pancreas, spleen, prostate, testis, and ovary, but not in any other tissue examined. Fluorescence-tagged NUDT10 localized to the cytosol of human embryonic kidney cells and rat pheochromocytoma cells.NUDT10 also hydrolyzed diadenosine hexaphosphate, and it showed a marked preference for adenine over guanine nucleotides.
