Nucleoside Diphosphate Linked Moiety X-Type Motif 7 (NUDT7)

Nudix Type Motif 7; Peroxisomal coenzyme A diphosphatase NUDT7

Nucleoside Diphosphate Linked Moiety X-Type Motif 7 (NUDT7)
NUDT7 is a member of the Nudix hydrolase family. Nudix hydrolases eliminate potentially toxic nucleotide metabolites from the cell and regulate the concentrations and availability of many different nucleotide substrates, cofactors, and signaling molecules. Nudt7-alpha encodes a deduced 236-amino acid protein with a Nudix motif, a motif associated with CoA hydrolysis, and a C-terminal peroxisome targeting sequence. Nudt7-beta encodes a 216-amino acid protein that lacks a 20-amino acid stretch, including the C-terminal end of the Nudix motif, compared with Nudt7-alpha. RNA dot blot analysis of human tissues detected high to moderate expression in liver, lung, kidney, pancreas, pituitary, small intestine, spleen, and placenta. Expression in several brain regions was generally low.
