Odd Skipped Related Protein 1 (OSR1)

Odd Skipped Related Protein 1 (OSR1)
The OSR1 gene encodes a predicted 266-amino acid protein containing 3 C2H2-type zinc fingers, a tyrosine phosphorylation site, and several putative PXXP SH3 binding motifs. OSR1 and OSR2 proteins share 63.6% sequence identity. Northern blot analysis showed expression of a 2.3-kb OSR1 transcript in adult colon, small intestine, prostate, testis, and fetal lung. RT-PCR analysis showed OSR1 upregulation in 1 of 7 pancreatic cancer cell lines and weak expression in 2 of 7 gastric, 5 of 7 pancreatic, and 1 of 12 esophageal cancer cell lines.
OSR1 expression was upregulated in 5 and downregulated in 2 of 10 primary gastric cancers.By cDNA and human genomic sequence alignment, Katoh (2002) showed that the OSR1 gene contains 3 exons.
