PDZ Domain Containing Protein 11 (PDZD11)

Mouse and human PISP share 97% amino acid identity. Northern blot analysis detected low PISP expression in all human tissues examined, with slightly higher levels in kidney and skeletal muscle. Western blot analysis detected a 17-kD protein in all tissues examined, with highest abundance in kidney and liver. A 22-kD protein was also detected in some tissues.The deduced 140-amino acid PDZD11 protein shares 36 to 47% identity with other single PDZ domain-containing proteins, including the MALS/VELIS family of proteins, the Golgi-associated PDZ and coiled-coil domain protein (GOPC), and beta-2 syntrophin (SNTB2). Northern blot analysis detected a major 1.1-kb and a minor 1.4-kb transcript in fibroblasts, corresponding to 2 isoforms, which the authors designated AIPP1a and AIPP1b, respectively.
